Scanned documents often come with wide white borders; exported reports may have oversized page margins that waste space when printed or shared. This tool lets you draw a precise crop area on a live page preview, fine-tune it with draggable handles, and apply it to the whole document or a single page — all without uploading anything. pdf-lib writes a PDF CropBox that tells every standard viewer exactly which part of each page to show.
How to Use
- 1
Drop your PDF onto the upload area. The first page renders as a full preview.
- 2
Drag on the page to draw a crop rectangle, or adjust the default crop by dragging its edges and corners.
- 3
Toggle "Apply to all pages" to crop every page proportionally, or turn it off to crop only the current page.
- 4
Click "Download PDF" to apply the crop box and save the file.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does cropping permanently remove page content?
Cropping sets a CropBox, which masks the content outside the selected area in standard PDF viewers. The underlying content is preserved in the file — it is simply hidden from view. This is the standard PDF crop behavior.
Can I apply the crop to all pages at once?
Yes. The "Apply to all pages" toggle is on by default. When enabled, the crop is applied proportionally to every page so that the same relative area is visible, even if pages differ in size.
How do I adjust the crop area after drawing it?
Drag the rectangle body to move the crop area, or drag any of the four blue corner handles to resize it. You can also draw a completely new crop by dragging on an empty part of the page. Click "Reset" to restore the default inset.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Everything happens in your browser using pdfjs-dist for rendering and pdf-lib for writing the CropBox. Your file never leaves your device.
